Is it better to take a three-week road trip across the country or to fly, rent a car, and then drive around visiting family and friends for two weeks? Well, we're about to find out. :)

We flew from Phoenix to Chicago this morning.
Then rented an 8 passenger minivan via Turo.
We enjoyed pizza at Giordanos. (Should have gotten a bigger deep-dish cheese...)
Had fun running around Maggie Daly Park and walking along the lake.
Did NOT enjoy the wrong turn which led to a long walk through an underground alley or the parking garage "exit" that dumped us out on the wrong side of the road.
Overall- thankful for safe travels and for a family of 8 that is (mostly) patient with each other.
Tomorrow, we drive to Janesville, Wisconsin to see Dru's brother Ben and his family.
