A lot happened this weekend.
Our street had been so quiet (except for the noise that we made...and that was plenty!) But on Friday, lots of people showed up to open their summer homes. We've met two sets of neighbors. The one brought their two granddaughters with them- ages 7 and 9. Gen ran into the house shouting, "Mom! I have friends!!" The other brought two dogs. One is a black lab that likes to play fetch. Some of my kids are skiddish around dogs, but they all love one who will play fetch. I hope to post a picture of the kids and Cash soon.
Caleb is a big fan of magnolia trees. Anyone know when they will begin to bloom?

Ross had to work 12 hours on Saturday. :(
But work should lighten up and we hope to do more exploring and have more family time very soon.
We have been writing a lot of letters and were getting low on stamps, so I drove the kids down to the Iuka post office on Friday afternoon. This was only the third time I've driven the car in the 6 weeks we have been here!! We share the car and I'm a bit nervous driving on these windy country roads. But we made it there and back without trouble. We took some time to play at a park while we were down there. Here are some pics. :)

Well apparently magnolia trees can bloom anywhere from Feb to June, depending, and they can also possibly bloom multiple times a year! Also, magnolias are older than bees and can be pollinated by beetles! I seem to recall we had one in our backyard in Springfield, but I may be misremembering! GREAT climbing tree and beautiful fragrant blossoms!
ReplyDeleteYes, IMO... Magnolia blossoms are beautiful! Hey, I notice that those kiddos aren’t social distancing from statues, poles, trees in the park! Hope that they aren’t caught and end up in the pokey!😁
